Sugar City

WELCOME TO SUGAR CITY!

After having problems in Colombia with her father's coffee business, Sarah has to flee the country and travel with her mother and brother to Sugar City, where she will help her family with the sugar business.

Sugar imports have become scarce and humanity is so accustomed to its daily dose of sugar that this is starting to be a big problem. It has caused sugar to be the most expensive and precious item in Sugar City.

The problem has reached the streets and gangs are being created to take control of sugar in the city:

- ARCADE BOYS: They spend all day playing in the arcades and drinking sugary energy drinks like TAURUS. They need sugar to make their drinks.

- DON LUCA RESTAURANT: famous for his ultra-sweet desserts, Don Luca is very concerned about having material for his desserts, and he will not hesitate to use his employees to get it.

- XENOMORPHS: There is a new movie in the cinema "ALIEN" that is causing a sensation and many cosplay geeks want to see it with their chocolates and sugary sweets, without them watching the movie will not be the same.

- MC ROLAND ON THE BURGUERS: The most important hamburger chain in the country adds sugar to all their products (even salads) so they will not hesitate to do what is necessary to continue with their business.

- POLICE: Normally they help and protect the citizen, but after the shortage some became corrupt and will do anything for a bonus, be careful with them.

-SEA AGENTS: "Sugar Enforcement Administration" Mayor Alan Sugar, after his failed attempts to control the city, has created his own administration to try to control this sugar chaos, his agents are armed and are very dangerous.

All of them will make your stay in Sugar City an "entertaining" city.

Your objective is simple, accompany Sarah and her family so that they can control all the sugar in the city.

NOTES:

To achieve your goal, Sarah's brother's friend has obtained some weapons that he has hidden around the city. Look for them and they will help you with your work.

In Colombia they taught you to "borrow" other people's cars. Use them when you need them, but be careful, the driver may not take it very well...

The police have a search level for you, if you behave badly the search level will increase and they will be more aggressive with you.

At the beginning of the game no gang hates you, but as the game progresses they may start to hate you and go after you the moment they see you appear, you will have to fight or flee.

Some gangs have weapons, be careful if you are going to face any of them.

If you feel sick, you can go to the hospital where they will cure you quickly, but you will not be able to enter a hospital with weapons so you will have to throw them away first.

Sarah's brother knows garages where they can paint your car quickly and don't ask questions. It can be good for you to escape from the police if you have a very high police search level.

Be careful when night falls, the gangs never sleep and your car's headlights provide little illumination.

PLAY BETTER:

It is a Amstrad Cpc game, you need an emulator (or original machine) to play it.

This game uses several registers from the Amstrad CPC's CRTC chip. For this reason it is advisable to play on a good emulator such as Retro Virtual Machine or on the original Amstrad monitor. On other settings the game may have visual problems.

CONTROLS:

By default you control Sarah with joystick/gamepad, but if you want other controls press C in the main menu and you can use define them.

Press the action button to attack, if you do not have any weapon you will punch.

Press the action button for a few seconds and release it when Sarah is near a car to "borrow."

(Police department and the CPCRetroDev rules of good conduct require us to recommend that you do not kill or run over anyone and pay attention to traffic signs.)

While driving, press and hold the action button for a few seconds and release it to get out of the car (we recommend not getting out while the car is moving.)

TARGET ICON:

If you must go to a specific location, you will see a red box icon that shows the direction you must take to get there.

WEAPONS:

Punching: if you have no other option, your hands are always there.

Knife: simple, light and very fast.

Baseball bat: heavy but very effective.

Nunchakus: who hasn't wanted to use one of these at some point?

Katana: with a woman like Sarah and a katana, what can go wrong?

Gun: a classic Magnum for a good finish of the job.

Shotgun: ideal for dirty work.

Grenades: totally unnecessary, but always fun.

Bazooka: what gta-like would sugar city be without a good bazooka...?
